While we wait for my next appointment, I thought it would be fun to list some of my symptoms, and the strange world of pregnancy I’m living in.
Firstly, morning sickness. I have it. It’s not as bad as some women have it, but it would be more appropriate to call it “all day sickness”. The most unexpected thing about it to me is the aversions to foods. I always imagined that my healthy diet, full of fruits and vegetables and bread and cheese, would stick with me during my pregnancy. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Carrots (especially carrots) and most other vegetables became my enemies. Most fruits soon followed. The bread I usually ate seemed disgusting. I now crave meat, and at one point I absolutely couldn’t resist McDonald’s. I don’t even know who I am anymore 🙂
Here is a picture of one weeks worth of food, which sounded good when I was at the store, hunting for something that wouldn’t turn me off. Usually, after a day or two of eating it, I could no longer stand it. Good thing Joshua is around for the left-overs!
The other most noticeable symptom is, of course, being tired. All the time. You would think I’d just run a marathon. I didn’t know it was possible to be that tired.
I also have an aversion to smells, especially cigarettes or cigars. I can smell them a mile away.
For the rest of the symptoms, just the common ones! If you have been pregnant, you can imagine what they are. If you haven’t been pregnant, I don’t want to ruin the surprise 😉 I can’t complain, since they are the only way I can “feel” my babies right now! Even so, I’m looking forward to the second trimester!

I giggled at your meat comment. I kept telling Yathi I wanted “Cow and lots of it!”
