We’ve been so busy growing that Mommy has neglected to update this blog for awhile!

We turned 3 months old, and Aurelia has learned to touch her toys with her hands!

We also now find our toys much more interesting and entertaining!

We are very happy in the mornings!  We love hanging out in our jammies! (Mommy is especially funny in the morning!)

We are officially cool, breaking out the sunglasses for the first time!

We started the week off right with a visit to the square.  We both liked looking around at the trees (but it was BRIGHT out for us!)

We’ve also been having fun playing with a new toy mommy bought for us.  Sometimes we’re not too sure about it…

But most of the time we love it!

We get very, very tired now that we are more active.  Avery even fell asleep with his hand in the air…

We went out for dinner with mom and dad for the first time- we were very good.  As you can see we take up a lot of room and are a little conspicuous.  Everyone wants to look at our cuteness.

And then there is our overall, general preciousness 😉

This was our 9th week in the world!  We are still getting cuter, crying a little less, and interacting more.  We coo now too!

Nothing more precious than when we’re sleeping.  We have our kitten mittens on all the time now so that we don’t scratch our faces.

We went to have dinner with our friend Nico.  We were soooo good, and Aurelia REALLY likes Nico’s daddy.  We also met Nico at the local bookstore one afternoon.  Mommy had to leave quickly when we both decided to howl at the same time!

Here we are, peaceful in our seats at the doctor’s office.  We had our check up this week, Avery weighing in at 8.14 lbs, Aurelia at 8 lbs.  Vaccine time too 😦  We didn’t like it, and we bled, but we did really well.

Obviously, I’ve been neglecting the baby blog.  That’s a sign of a busy momma, and busy babies!  They are almost 8 weeks now, and they’ve changed a lot.  They are getting more and more attentive, and we are seeing some REAL smiles now!

Mom didn’t think it was possible, but we are getting even cuter!

Mommy bought these shirts in Spain when she found out we were going to be brother and sister.  She took a picture of the shirts… and now she actually has US to model them for her!

We had our first visit to the park with our buddy Nico.  It was hot out.  Hot makes us tired.

Avery is so strong- he can hold his head up and even flip himself over from time to time!  Aurelia is our sleeping angle- until night time rolls around!

We are three weeks old today!!!  (She’s yawning)

We had our second visit with the pediatrician- Avery is now 6.10 lbs, and Aurelia is 5.14.  Growing!!!

We started tummy time.  We have no idea what is going on or what to do, so it’s pretty funny to watch.  Then tummy time turned into sleepy time.

Aurelia eventually scooted up, while brother showed his strength by lifting and turning his head (he was fueled by frustration, I think!)

Tonight we went on our first walk with mommy to celebrate so many firsts.

We also went our first family outing this weekend- first lunch at the Wild Iris, then a walk around the courthouse square.

Another week has gone by, and we are two weeks old now!  We are a bit more alert- we spend more time awake this week than we did last week.  We had some nice visits this week, and we also had to go back for our second screening- which means we got our heels pricked, and it really hurt 😦  Mommy was pretty upset about it too.

We spent a lot of our time sleeping- we sleep better when we are together!

Waiting at the hospital to get the second screening.  We don’t go out in public much- strangers need to learn not to touch the babies!!!

Avery James Fitch and Aurelia Claire Fitch have officially arrived!  They were born on the morning of June 9, Aurelia at 9:09 at 5 lbs, 18 1/4 inches, and Avery at 9:10 at 5.12 lbs, 18 inches.  Both babies are very healthy!  We are so lucky.  The surgery was surprisingly quick- the doctor only took 5 minutes between beginning the surgery and delivering Aurelia.  Surgery is no fun, but all in all it wasn’t as bad as I’d imagined- thanks to my favorite nurse Lisa and the amazing anesthesiologist who was by my side the entire time, reassuring me that everything I was feeling was “normal”.  

One of the most amazing moments was when I heard their little cries!  I couldn’t wait to get back to the recovery room and actually hold them and meet these two little people.  You try to imagine the way your baby will look, but that can’t prepare you for meeting your baby.  Avery and Aurelia each have their own looks and, as we have learned, their own personalities.  It was the most special thing to be able to hold them and get to know them for those two days in the hospital.

It was even more exciting to get to take these two home on Wednesday!  Here are the pictures of our going home preparations, including their going home outfits and the ridiculously big car seats for the ridiculously small babies 🙂 

This past week we have gotten to know their differences and their personalities a little better.  Aurelia is our beautiful, fair baby- she has very light hair and a light complexion.  She is our tiny little girl, but she can also be our more vocal one- she likes attention from mommy and daddy, for sure!

Avery is our handsome little man, with a face that looks very wise and mature 🙂  He is darker than his sister, and he is so relaxed and calm and mellow.  He only cries when he’s hungry.

Regardless of their different personalities, both babies love each other.  If Aurelia is fussy, I can usually put her right next to her brother and she calms down.

We feel so thankful, lucky, and amazed that we get to be the parents of these two precious little miracles!
